Free Plans & Trials
How Much of SpicyChat AI Can You Use for Free?
SpicyChat's free plan covers almost the whole app, with short memory, ads and peak-time queues as the catch. Here is where it stops and what the paid tiers cost after the September 2026 price change.
Key takeaways
- SpicyChat is free to use with no card: the full community character library, the bot builder and uncensored chat all work on a $0 account.
- The real free limit is memory: 4,096 tokens of context, which SpicyChat's own docs say keeps only about 20 recent messages in view, plus a 180-token cap on each reply.
- Guests get roughly 80-100 messages before a sign-in prompt; signed-in free accounts have a reported 2,000-reply daily cap that very few people ever reach.
- Paid tiers rose on September 8, 2026: Get A Taste is $5.95/mo, True Supporter $19.95/mo and I'm All In $29.95/mo, with annual billing saving about 16-17%.
- Only True Supporter ($19.95) changes how the bot feels, by doubling memory to 8K and stretching replies to 300 tokens. The $5.95 tier mostly removes ads and the queue.
In this article
Short answer: yes, SpicyChat AI is free, and more of it is free than on most companion apps. On a $0 account you get the whole community character library, the bot builder and uncensored roleplay, with no card on file. What you don't get is memory. Free chats run on a 4,096-token context window, which is roughly the last 20 messages, and replies stop at 180 tokens. Paying starts at $5.95 a month since the September 2026 price change.
I spent a week on a fresh free account, logged every limit I hit, then checked the official docs. Below: what's free, where it stops, what each paid tier costs now, and free alternatives if the short memory gets to you.

What SpicyChat's free plan includes
Most companion apps give you a trial dressed up as a free plan: ten messages, then a paywall. SpicyChat's docs say core features stay free for everyone, and that held up. I opened community bots, built two of my own and chatted without filters on day one, never asked for a card.
The limits sit around the chat: memory, reply length, model choice and ads. Here is the split per SpicyChat's Premium Features and Tokens & Context pages.
| Feature | Free | Get A Taste | True Supporter | I'm All In |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Character library and bot builder | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Uncensored chat | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Context memory | 4,096 tokens | 4,096 tokens | 8,192 tokens | Up to 32,768 tokens (model dependent) |
| Max reply length | 180 tokens | 180 tokens | 300 tokens | 300 tokens |
| User personas | A few (3 in most reports) | 10 | 50 | 100 |
| Ads | Yes | No | No | No |
| Waiting queue at peak times | Yes | Skipped | Skipped | Priority generation |
| Memory Manager (pinned facts) | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Semantic Memory 2.0 | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Conversation images | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Text-to-speech | No | No | No | Yes |
| Temperature / Top-P / Top-K controls | No | No | No | Yes |
Note that the $5.95 tier keeps the free memory and reply cap, so the bot gets no smarter. And voice is top-tier only: older roundups list text-to-speech under True Supporter, but current docs put it under I'm All In.
Where the free plan actually runs out
I ran three bots on the free account: a slow-burn romance, a fantasy quest and a casual chat character. Each one hit the same wall, and it wasn't a message count.
Memory: about 20 messages
SpicyChat's Tokens & Context guide gives a worked example for the free tier: a 1,000-token character definition plus messages of about 150 tokens leaves room for around 20 recent messages. That matched my notes closely. In the fantasy chat, the bot forgot the name of a town we had set up early on somewhere in the low twenties of messages, and started inventing a new one. Longer messages make it worse, because each one eats more of the 4K window.
Reply length: 180 tokens
A 180-token reply is a short paragraph, roughly 700 characters. For quick back-and-forth that's fine. For scene-setting roleplay it feels clipped, and I found myself typing "continue" more than I wanted to. You can lower the reply length in Generation Settings, but you can't raise it past 180 on free.
Message caps: guests vs signed-in accounts
If you chat without signing in, you get roughly 80-100 messages before a sign-in prompt, according to SpicyChat support as quoted in a late-September 2026 guide. Signing in is free, and guest chats carry over if you register in the same browser session. Signed-in free users have a reported daily cap of 2,000 AI replies, resetting at midnight. My busiest day was a couple hundred messages and I never saw it.
Ads and queues
Free accounts see ads, and at peak hours you may wait in a short queue. I saw it a few times on weekday evenings (Eastern time), never in the morning.
SpicyChat pricing after the September 2026 change
SpicyChat raised all three paid tiers on September 8, 2026. Its pricing FAQ calls it "purely a price change": every tier kept the same features, and the free plan didn't change. EUR prices match USD. Here is the full ladder with the math I care about, the effective monthly cost on annual billing.
| Tier | Monthly now | Monthly before | Annual now | Annual per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | $0 | $0 |
| Get A Taste | $5.95 | $5.00 | $60.00 | $5.00 |
| True Supporter | $19.95 | $14.95 | $199.95 | about $16.66 |
| I'm All In | $29.95 | $24.95 | $299.95 | about $25.00 |
Annual billing saves about 16-17% on every tier, slightly less than the "17% off" older reviews quote.
If you already subscribe: recurring plans keep their old price while active and on the same plan. Upgrade, downgrade or switch billing period, and you move to current pricing for good. Reactivating a cancelled plan before its period ends keeps the old rate.
Which paid tier is worth it, if any
I come at this as a billing person, so I asked a simple question for each tier: what changes about the chat itself?
- Get A Taste ($5.95): nothing about the bot. You lose ads and the queue, and you get Memory Manager, which pins facts into every prompt. That pinned-facts feature is the only real help for the 20-message memory, and it does take a bite out of the same 4K window.
- True Supporter ($19.95): this is the first tier that changes the conversation. Double the memory (about 40 messages of room by the same math as the docs' example), replies up to 300 tokens, Semantic Memory 2.0 for key relationship facts, and more models.
- I'm All In ($29.95): for people who live in long roleplays. Up to 32K context on supported models, the full model list including SpicyXL, priority generation, sampling controls and text-to-speech.
How to get more out of the free plan
Since memory is the bottleneck, every tip here is about spending fewer tokens on things the bot doesn't need.
- 1
Sign in before you start
A free account lifts the guest limit of roughly 80-100 messages, and chats from the same browser session carry over when you register.
- 2
Pick bots with lean definitions
SpicyChat suggests 800-1,100 tokens for a bot definition. A bloated 2,000-token character leaves far less of the 4K window for your chat. When I trimmed one of my own bots, it held details noticeably longer.
- 3
Write shorter messages
Every message you send uses the same window. Two tight sentences beat a paragraph of scene-setting.
- 4
Restate key facts every so often
Every 15 messages or so, I slipped the important names and plot points back into my own message. It's clunky, but it's the free version of Memory Manager.
Free SpicyChat alternatives I'd try next
None of these match SpicyChat's community library; among the big names only CrushOn comes close, and its free cap is tighter. They offer what SpicyChat keeps behind its $19.95 and $29.95 tiers, images, voice or longer memory, with a free allowance to test. Each started on a fresh account with no card.

JOI AI: best free option for voice chat
Best for: People who want voice without paying for a top tier

Voice is a $29.95-a-month feature on SpicyChat. JOI AI lets you hear it free: my allowance covered roughly 10-20 starter messages and a short voice sample, enough to judge the voice.
Replies were fast and the personality adapted to my tone within a few messages. JOI runs on Neurons (about 4 per text reply, up to 120 per photo). On annual billing it's about $5.08 a month, with voice included.
What you get for $0
- Around 10-20 starter messages
- Uncensored chat with adaptive personality
- A short taste of voice
Pros
- + Strong voice interaction
- + Fast responses
- + Low annual price
Cons
- − Credit system to track
- − Web only
Pricing: Free to start; Premium $17.77/mo or about $5.08/mo billed annually (~$60.95/year).

Candy AI: most polished custom companion
Best for: One custom companion with photos

Candy AI is the opposite of SpicyChat's community approach: you build one companion and talk to that character. Free gave me one companion, about 5 messages in total and one generated image.
Image quality was the best I tested. Treat Candy's one-companion free plan as a test drive; paid plans add long-term memory, which SpicyChat charges $19.95 and up for.
What you get for $0
- Create one companion
- About 5 free messages in total
- One free image; voice needs Premium
Pros
- + Very high image quality
- + Smooth chat flow
- + Apps for iOS and Android
Cons
- − Free tier is limited
- − Best features are paid
Pricing: Premium $13.99/mo (first month $9.99) or $3.99/mo billed annually ($47.88/year), 100 image tokens a month included.

OurDream AI: best images and video on a paid plan
Best for: Users who care about images as much as chat

SpicyChat's images start at True Supporter ($19.95). OurDream AI also keeps images and video behind a subscription, with only a small starter allowance of chat on a free account, but its Premium is cheaper on annual billing ($9.99 a month) and the image quality was the best I saw.
Premium includes unlimited standard chat and 1,000 DreamCoins a month. Heavy media use, video especially, spends them fast.
What you get for $0
- Free signup, no card needed
- A small starter allowance of chat messages
- Images, video and voice need Premium
Pros
- + Excellent media quality
- + Video generation
- + Apps on iOS and Android
Cons
- − No free images or video
- − Generation costs credits
Pricing: Premium $19.99/mo or $9.99/mo billed annually ($119.88/year), 1,000 DreamCoins a month.

Lovescape: best for slow-burn romance scenes
Best for: Story-driven romance roleplay

Lovescape gives free accounts a daily text allowance plus signup chips for images and voice. Older listings put it at 40-50 messages a day, but recent reports vary, so check your own counter.
Its scenarios and scene settings suited my slow-burn romance test better than a blank chat window. Images and voice spend chips, even on paid plans.
What you get for $0
- A limited daily text allowance (reports vary)
- Character gallery access
- Signup chips for image and voice
Pros
- + Immersive scene settings
- + Good image quality
- + Story focus
Cons
- − Upper tiers get pricey
- − Web only
Pricing: Premium $12.99-$19.99/mo or $5.99-$7.99/mo billed annually, 600 chips a month included.

Nectar AI: best free image allowance
Best for: Free daily images with a steady character look

Nectar AI gives free users 15 messages and 10 image generations a day, the biggest free image allowance here.
Free memory is session-only, much like SpicyChat's short window. Premium unlocks long-term memory and 6,000 messages a month for $9.99, about half the price of SpicyChat's 8K tier.
What you get for $0
- 15 messages per day
- 10 image generations per day
- Session-only memory
Pros
- + Consistent character media
- + Realistic companions
- + Solid memory on paid plans
Cons
- − Low free message count
- − Web only
Pricing: Premium $9.99/mo (about $5/mo billed annually); Pro $19.99/mo.
Try Nectar AI freeMySpicyAI.chat: closest to the SpicyChat feel
Best for: SpicyChat users who want a smaller, curated cast

MySpicyAI.chat is a browser chat with 50+ flirty characters, so the browse-and-pick flow felt familiar after SpicyChat. The cast is far smaller, with nothing to install.
Free covers the gallery and a preview chat per companion. Premium, from about $12.99 a month, adds unlimited messages, voice replies and memory that lasts weeks.
What you get for $0
- Browse the character gallery
- Preview chat with each companion
- Runs in the browser, no card
Pros
- + Fully uncensored
- + No download needed
- + Memory that lasts on Premium
Cons
- − Free is preview-only
- − Newer platform
Pricing: Free preview; Premium from about $12.99/mo.

How I tested
I made a new SpicyChat account on desktop Chrome with no payment method, ran three test bots (two community bots and one of my own) over seven days, and logged message counts, every point where a bot lost track of an earlier detail, and every ad or queue screen. I didn't subscribe to SpicyChat for this piece, so paid-tier features come from SpicyChat's own documentation, not from my use.
Prices come from SpicyChat's September 2026 pricing FAQ, rechecked in October. For each alternative I used a fresh account, chatted until the free allowance ran out, and compared that with the plan details each app publishes. Check the checkout page before you pay; prices in this category change often.
Frequently asked questions
Is SpicyChat AI completely free?
+
The core app is free: you can browse the community character library, build your own bots and chat without filters on a $0 account with no card. What costs money is the extras. Paid tiers remove ads and queues, double or expand memory, lengthen replies, and add conversation images and voice. Most casual users can stay on the free plan indefinitely.
Is there a daily message limit on SpicyChat free?
+
Guests who don't sign in get roughly 80-100 messages before a sign-in prompt. Signed-in free accounts have a reported cap of 2,000 AI replies per day, resetting at midnight, which few people reach in normal use. SpicyChat's docs don't publish a hard free cap, so pages claiming 100 messages a day are likely out of date or wrong.
How much does SpicyChat cost per month?
+
Since September 8, 2026, Get A Taste costs $5.95 a month, True Supporter $19.95 and I'm All In $29.95. Annual plans are $60, $199.95 and $299.95, which saves about 16-17%. Subscribers who signed up before the change keep their old price as long as they stay on the same plan without switching.
What does SpicyChat's Get A Taste plan give you?
+
Get A Taste removes ads, skips the waiting queue, raises your persona slots to 10 and adds Memory Manager for pinning key facts. It keeps the free plan's 4,096-token memory and 180-token reply cap, so the bot itself doesn't get any smarter. It's mainly worth it if ads or peak-time queues bother you.
Why does SpicyChat forget things on the free plan?
+
Free accounts get a 4,096-token context window. With a typical 1,000-token character and messages of about 150 tokens, SpicyChat's own docs estimate only around 20 recent messages stay visible to the bot. Older details fall out. Shorter messages, lean bot definitions and restating key facts help; True Supporter doubles the window to 8,192 tokens.
Can you get SpicyChat premium for free?
+
No. Pages offering a free lifetime premium account, generators or modded downloads are not legitimate, and some are outright scams. The only free option is SpicyChat's standard free plan. If you want premium-style features like images or voice without paying, several other companion apps include a small free allowance of those features.
Does SpicyChat have voice or images on the free plan?
+
No. Conversation images start at the True Supporter tier ($19.95 a month), and text-to-speech is only on I'm All In ($29.95 a month). Free accounts are text only. JOI AI includes a short free taste of voice, and Nectar AI gives 10 free images a day, if you want to test those features first.
